Today’s Temps, however, don’t want to work for just 2 or 3 days. At least, not in the travel industry. Travel Temps are declaring themselves in charge of their professional lives and have made a conscious choice to accept temporary work, because like businesses, it meets their (personal) needs. They don’t want to be regarded as “insignificant fillers” in the work force. They want more. They want growth and stability. Maybe they’re a recent college graduate and need to establish job history. They would happily take a temporary assignment to cultivate “on the job” experience, or possible permanent work down the line. Maybe they’re unemployed, waiting for the perfect job, a temporary job is needed in the interim. Or, they’ve just been away from the travel industry and simply want to come back to what they know.
At Travel Staff, we recognize the needs of our clients whose businesses require temp assistance during peak seasons. However, we don’t refer to our Temp staff as “Temps”. They are members of the Project Management Services Team, or PMS. We do our part to help them develop the stability they are looking for by contracting them on long term assignments (minimum of 1 month’s services).
We are currently recruiting PMS Members for assignments ranging from 1 month to 10 months.
